The Watch -
Within the trailer, the producer ensures that the audience can connect with the characters and get to know them. This helps you feel more involved with the film, so you want to watch the rest of it. They also use language like ‘big man’ and other aspects that help link to a specific audience, and target a specific type of humor. Another benefit to the trailer is that is uses well-known actors such as; ben stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jonah hill etc. and automatically these characters drag the viewers in as everyone knows there comedy.
The Wedding
Like the watch, the wedding trailer is also similar in the way it makes sure the audience meet every character. This allows the audience to have more of a connection, which makes the story more humouress. However this video was not so successful in my eyes as I felt it tried to be too funny. It didn’t have a good range of funny, and serious clips – the focus was only on humour. The characters that this film has, are not well-known comedy actors, which made the humour harder to relate too for the audience – impacting how funny the trailer actually was.
The only draw in of the film to me was that everyone loves wedding ‘rom-coms’ and that it is from the director of the calendar girls, but personally, they could have had a better trailer based on the fact that it doesn’t capture your attention as well as many other trailers.
